Foster families are critical to our rescue efforts as we do not have a shelter facility. We are always in need of foster homes in order to save dogs from shelters. If you would like to help save a life, please consider fostering! Fostering can be a very rewarding and satisfying experience. You can foster as frequently or infrequently as you would like. Even fostering just one dog, one time, is extremely helpful in our rescue efforts. General Information Our Responsibilities Should an issue arise with a foster dog that a foster home cannot handle, Hound Rescue will make every effort to transfer the dog to a different foster home as quickly as possible. Your Responsibilities Fostering will often involve housetraining and/or crate training as well as introducing some basic obedience concepts. We expect that dogs will be indoors when you are not home and at night. Additionally, you may be asked to take the foster dog to scheduled veterinary appointments and to make the dog available for a meet and greet when we have found a suitable home. Should an issue arise with a foster dog that a foster home cannot handle, you are expected to contact Hound Rescue as quickly as possible so that we can work to make other arrangements. However, we view taking a foster dog as a commitment similar to adopting a dog - we know fostering is not always easy, and we expect our foster homes to make every effort to work with a foster dog to help it overcome any issues it may have.
