Below are the dogs currently available in the Austin, TX area. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis and a home visit is required. The adoption fee for most of these dogs is $200, puppies are $250, seniors $150; if a dog is not spayed or neutered we require a $75 deposit, which is refundable once surgery is performed.
The page is updated regularly, please scroll to the bottom of the page to see all of our available dogs.
Also, [Application Pending] means the dog does have an application, but backups are welcome and [Adoption Pending] means the dog is in an adoptive home on the trial period, but has not yet been adopted so we will still accept applications until the adoption is finalized.
We've recently had significant medical expenses for some of our hounds. If you would like to help with these expenses, please consider making a donation to Hound Rescue! For more donation options, see our Donate page.
Hi! I'm Manny. I've had a tough go at life but luckily Hound Rescue found me and gave me the medical care I desperately needed. I am now fully recovered and feeling great. Although I have adjusted well to living with other dogs in my foster home, I am ready for a permanent home of my own.
I love to go on walks and sit on the couch so my foster mom can pet me. I just started being interested in squeaky toys but not too sure what to do with them yet. I like other dogs but am still a little shy around new dogs I meet. I don't like when the humans leave without me and I bark for a bit when we are separated . I don't destroy anything and I know to go potty outside. Please consider adopting me if you're looking for a laid back guy who is just looking for love and willing to love you back.

Sometimes we come across a dog that pulls on our heartstrings. In this case it was a bonded pair of girls, Julie and Faith. These ladies were owner surrendered by an owner that could no longer care for them. Faith and Julie are a team; where one goes the other follows! These sweet girls love to just hang out and chill. Food, water, soft beds and some cuddles are all these gals need. However, couch privileges are appreciated. These seniors are heartworm positive and too aged for typical treatment. We are hoping to find just the right place for the lovely ladies to spend their remaining years. Oh, no cats please.

Sam is a gorgeous young dog, very striking. He was a big hit at Dogtoberfest in October. We believe his breed to be Colombian fino hound, possibly a mix. Sam looks like a beagle-basset mix, only 3 times as large as a typical beagle! He is very friendly and good-natured and absolutely loves everyone. He seems to do well with other dogs.
Sam is very strong and still has a lot of young dog energy, so needs lots of outlets for that energy, especially considering his size. He still needs training and will do best with an experienced dog owner who can handle a strong and energetic dog. Sam will reward your attention with all his exuberance and love!
