Harvey

Harvey is a very sweet, calm older guy. He came in stray to a local shelter and wasn't reclaimed. He's a tall beagle, but look at that mug! Harvey would do well as an only dog - he *loves* his people, or with a submissive dog, and he loves being inside. We desperately need a foster or adoptive home for Harvey where he can wait till his forever family comes along.

Chaos

Chaos is a 5 year old Beagle with tons of energy! He loves to run, play chase and take long walks or hikes. Chaos knows sit, stay and shake and is yearning for some more advanced training. He's at a good weight and height, eats well and loves carrots for treats! Chaos will be a great addition to any home as a single dog or with companions. He loves and appreciates everyone around him and can't wait to find his forever home.

Zach

Zach is a pretty typical young beagle boy - energetic but not crazily so, good with all things dog and cat and quite playful. He is being crate trained in his foster home and will need a secure fence. Zach would do quite well in a home with other dogs around but will need to be crated when no humans are home with him. Zach will benefit from someone who knows the breed -- or is willing to learn, he is definitely all beagle, but that *isn't* a bad thing!

Barney

Barney is 3 - 4 year old boy beagle who is housetrained. An affectionate and sweet-natured little guy, he is happiest in someone's lap! And if you "sing" to him, he sings along with you. He fits right in with his foster family, which includes small children, cats, and dogs. He is very attached to his family, and he *really" wants a family where he can sleep in the same room as his humans. He spends time inside and outside of the house, but he prefers inside.

Petra

Petra is a very sweet, young hound mix girl. Yes, she's a little bigger than the average beagle, but she'll make you forget that! So far she's been really easy for her foster dad, not showing any signs of separation anxiety, not fussed by thunder, very friendly with people. She had originally come into a shelter with another coonhound who was adopted, so she has lived with another dog before.

She seems to be an easy keeper - might make a good walking or running buddy. She also plays catch with herself with a tennis ball - which is about the cutest thing we've ever seen!

Sammy

Sammy is one of our "golden oldies" but don't let that fool you. Having won over the staff at a local shelter he bought himself way more time than most dogs in kill facilities get and finally found his way to us. Sammy has come *so* far since we got him, and now appreciates the finer things in life like living inside, walking on a leash, strolling in the woods, the things he shouldn't have missed out on this long.

Sammy really is an easygoing guy, he's doing great with the other dog in the home and really taking to the good life. Sammy is neutered and started heartworm treatment on 6/11. If you want a truly easy keeper Sammy's likely for you, he just thinks life is grand and has definitely earned his spot with a loving family - yours perhaps?

Quincy

Quincy is a rare beagle in rescue - he actually has his AKC papers of all things, so we know he's a purebred. Quincy definitely prefers the quiet life, he doesn't appear to have had a lot of interaction with other dogs or kids and both make him a touch nervous. Quincy is a generally easygoing guy who doesn't place a lot of demands on his people. He'll make a great companion for a quiet home who wants an easy keeper.

Quincy appears to have been well cared for all of his life and clearly spoiled (at least in terms of eating a bit more than he should)! We've started the dieting process and he is being crate trained. He is fully housebroken and ready for adoption.

Beau

Beau is a beautiful calm beagle girl we've pulled from a local shelter. She seems pretty easygoing from what we can tell. We're still learning about her, she was very friendly when we went to meet her and definitely wanted to be in the AC! Check back for more info soon once her foster mom gets to know her better.

Snickers

Snickers is a sweet little girl with nearly everything. She is housebroken, walks well on leash, gets along with other dogs and is completely disinterested in cats. She rides well in the car and doesn't get into stuff when left alone. She is working on improving her kennel training - she eats there and stays there when her foster parents go to work, but is left loose at night and does great. Her only downside, if you can call it that, is a fear of loud noises -- specifically thunder and fireworks. She has become more vocal as she has grown accustomed to her foster home, but is really more alert than noisy.

Casey

Casey is a handsome lemon beagle, just about the quietest dog around; the guy rarely barks! He is friendly, low-key and gentle but at times a bit timid, and startles at loud noises or sudden movements. He would likely thrive in a calm environment. Casey doesn't really need a backyard, but boy, does he ever perk up for walks, the highlight of his day! Due to his quiet nature and love of walks, he would probably do well as an apartment dog. Casey is housebroken and crate-trained, and gets along just fine with his foster dog and cat siblings. And if you're a pizza-lover, Casey's your guy; he was just about drooling waiting for his foster mom to finish her pizza so he could have the crusts!

Scooter

Scooter Ray is a great dog, a very laid back beagle. Due to an injury at some point in his past he was unable to use his leg, which was amputated to improve his mobility. As is standard with tripod pups, he doesn't have a clue that he is missing one and lives his life just like any other beagle - just free of pain. He has been around children without any issues, and dogs without any issues and will cuddle in most anyone's lap. He would be ideal for a dog-door situation as he's quite interested in going in and out as he loves to explore. Scooter Ray is crate trained, housebroken and an all around good guy.

Darryl

Darryl Buckley, Esq. was a bit lacking in the manner department when he first landed with Hound Rescue but has picked up on training quickly. He is now crate trained, house trained and will walk on a leash will no problems. He has lots of love and energy to give to his forever family so he needs a family that is active. He loves the dog park, going on runs and walks every day and playing in the backyard with his foster family's other beagle. He is great with kids, strangers and other dogs.

Oscar

Oscar is a great young beagle boy who is responding well to the structure and routine of his foster home. He's been good with everything - seems to love everyone he meets. He is in a foster home with two dogs and two kids and is doing well. We've been working with him a bit to undo some of the lessons he learned with his previous family, he is a young beagle boy, so reasonably energetic but not overly so. He responds well to his foster mom, loves his food and treats, is housebroken and crate trained and really a pretty easy beagle (as beagles go!).
