Make sure to check out Hound Rescue's new Bulletin Board for Homeless Hounds. These are listings for hounds that are looking for new homes but are not in Hound Rescue's direct care.

If it's a beagle you're looking for, please check out the National List of Beagles Available for Adoption. These again are beagles not in Hound Rescue but still needing homes.

Please note that there are many animals available at shelters that are not pictured on their web pages and often the photos are out-of-date, so the best way to see the dogs available is to go visit the shelter yourself.

  • Save-A-Pet, Inc. in Forsyth, GA often has hounds available for adoption
  • URGENT, Permanently! If you're in West Virgina, please check out the Upshur County Dog Pound. It is a kill facility that always has hounds. Each dog gets one week to be rescued or adopted, otherwise is euthanized. If you're close, try to help save a life
  • Summerville, SC - the Dorchester SPCA has a number of hounds needing homes
  • Floyd County Animal Shelter in Prestonburg, KY often has hounds. Please contact Bonnie at bonjohnf@setel.com for information on what dogs are available.
